Results of Our 2011 Pie Baking Contest

Youth winner Sara Topasna

Cathy Campbell’s Chocolate Dream Tart was the Grand Prize winner of our 2nd annual pie baking contest. 

Carolyn Wielgus won second prize overall for her Healthy Swiss Cheese and Mushroom Quiche. 

Third prize overall went to Sarah Wilson for her "Sour Cream Apple Pie with Ginger and Brown Sugar Walnut Specialness." 

The winners of each category were:

Fruit Pie – Kelly Morikawa for her Lucky Seven Apple Pie

Nut Pie – Stephanie Wilkinson for her "Everything I Know About Baking I Learned from Betsy Gregg Bourbon Cream Pie"

Cream/Custard Pie – Greg Topasna for his Brandy Alexander Pie

Holiday Pie – Gladys Cauley-Crist for her Japanese Fruit Pie.

Youth Pie (made by bakers under fourteen years old) –
       Sara Topasna for her Pump "Can" Pie.

Pie Judges who graciously donated their time and their taste buds were Dymph Alexander, Caroline Dix, Terry Dunlap, Kent Massie,Tina Miller, and Pat Ohleger.

Ladles and Linens owner, Tina Miller, donated very generous gift certificates to her store for each of the winners.
